Hey Everyone
I've been thinking a lot, lately, about a friend of ours. He served for the US Army for 28 years. He's been on 5 different combat missions and he was serving in Germany when the Berlin Wall fell. He has seen death and war up close and personal. This man doesn't just know history, he's lived it!
We spent the weekend remembering those who died so that we could live in a free country. I'm very grateful to them but I couldn't help but think that we missed something. What about Jesus? Didn't he died so that we could be free? Aren't those living in coutries that aren't free, free because of Jesus? Makes you think doesn't it.
I'm so glad that God brought our friend into our lives. He reminds me everyday of the price that these men and women pay daily for our freedom. But more than that, I am reminded of the price that Jesus paid for me when He died on that horrible cross.
