August 11, 1990

16 years ago yesterday Geoff and I were married. Where has the time gone! Our two flower girls and our ring bearer are all in University! One of my bridesmaids and my maid of honour are both married and have two kids each. In fact my maid of honour married Geoff's best man.

Now, 16 years later Geoff and I have a 14 year old daughter and an 11 year old son. We've moved 12 times in our marriage, Geoff was a landscaper for 10 years and now is a pastor and going for his master degree. How the times have changed.

As I look back on the years I'm amazed at how much I've changed (or grown up). I was so unaware of what I was getting into when the above picture was taken. Geoff and I have had some pretty tough years together. But the truth is that neither one of us would have grown if we didn't have those tough years. I can look back over the years and see how God has been grooming us for His service.

God has been with with us since the beginning and he will be with us until we see Him face to face. Knowing that makes the tough times a little more tolerable. Our marriage has been full of change. Change is good, but some times (most of the time) it hurts. God uses change in our lives to help us grow. I know I've written this before in earlier blogs but God sure is growing Geoff and I A LOT! I've gotten to the point where if I notice there hasn't been some sort of change in our lives over a few months I begin to brace myself because I know it's coming. And sure enough change ALWAYS happens. But that's good. I look at it this way, if I'm not changing I'm dead. (You know, I just realized that what I'm typing is very easy to type but VERY HARD to actually go through!)

Only with God can we make it through the changes in our lives. Good thing He says in the Bible that He will never leave us or forsake us!

Have a great week everyone and enjoy the changes!
Deb
